1840 1d black tied to small entire by crisp black Maltese Cross. Addressed to Lincoln's Inn Fields with red tablet 10 FN 10 JY 21 1841 cancel on reverse. The return letter has been written on the back of the original hence the small size and thus we can see all correspondence regarding the welfare paid to a relative including the amounts etc. A lovely example of the social responsibilities of the day. Excellent cond.
