Morgan, Barbara Radding Born November 28, 1951, she was an American teacher & former NASA astronaut. Barbara participated in the "Teacher in Space" program & as was the backup to Christa McAuliffe for the 1986 ill-fated STS-51-L mission of the Space Shuttle Challenger. She then trained as a mission specialist & flew on STS-118 in August 2007. She was also the first teacher to have been to space. This 29th Jan 1986 pmkd Space Shuttle illust homemade cover is signed by her in blue ink with neighbouring "SHUTTLE "CHALLENGER" (MISSION 51-L) EXPLODED ON TAKE0OFF JAN. 24, 1986" cachet in black. Incls a "Teacher in Space" colour commem sticker. A scarce item.
