1974 London to Perth commercial cover with "DELAYED EN ROUTE - AIRCRAFT HIJACK" cachet in mauve. This took place on the 22nd November 1974 in Dubai when four terrorists took over a British Airways plane and demanded the release of thirteen imprisoned terrorists in Egypt and two in the Netherlands. The Egyptian authorities claimed they were releasing the prisoners however once the Palestinians realised this was not happening they executed one of the hostages, a German banker. Heavily worn & roughly opened but a superb piece of postal history rarely seen.
