1862 Government Gazette published on Tuesday 13th February from the Colonial Secretary's Office in the early Swan River Colony. Printed at the ''Convict Establishment in Fremantle” it is from the outgoing Governor, Kennedy, thanking all those who assisted him during his administration. He thanks the Lord Bishop of Perth and clergy of other denominations for the ''practical interest they have taken in the moral and spiritual welfare of the people”. 1861 1d rose swan at top right cancelled by the 15 bar numeral for Perth in blue. The stamp is damaged but a complete cancel with clearly ties it to the document. A stunning piece of early Colony postal history. A scarce item rarely seen.
