1917 (27th Feb) Basil Watson Postcard with 1d red KGV tied by "Australian Aerial Mail 27 FEB 1917 Melbourne, Vic" oval cancel. Departure "Camperdown 11.15A 24 FE 17 Vic" cds. Addressed to "Major Williams Strathmore, 21 Wattle Rd, Hawthorn" with added "Heaven bless you my Son". The total journey took over 12 days. Watson died a month later on 28th March when his plane crashed. Worn cond with a 22mm corner tear & corner crease but a rare survivor with only 66 items flown on this intermediate leg.
