World 1915 (WWI)-1949 covers mounted in Sargent album noting German 1923 inflation (17), Belgian 1916 unaddressed with Edith Cavell "La Nurse Martyre" propaganda label, a further 1916 cover franked with 1915 Red Cross Fund set (Cat. £36 plus large premium on cover), Dunkerque to Holland censored cover bearing Belgium, France & GB adhesives tied by Belgian Field Hospital cachet & a French 1915 postcard with French Society for Wounded Soldiers cinderella alongside 10¢ "Sower" plus 1915 GB cover to Holland, regd London & sealed by censor tape. Also 1915 South Africa wrapper with KGV 1d x 3 plus a 1914/15 Disabled Service War Seal (½d) with Passed Censor h/s before other S. Africa & GB covers to same destination. Interesting German Occ ovpts on Germania 10¢ postcards with various types of censorship markings (27), business envelopes with similar franking & POW stampless cover with Soltau (Hannover) cds & pencilled message dated 15-12-14. A 1906 GB Formular Regd cover to Germany with oval Registered 19SP06 Leeds plus violet hooded cds the following day, 1929 Haiphong Regd Airmail cover to Belgium opened out to show $1.10 franking on flap, GB 6-10-39 censored cover to Belgium, 1949 Austrian regd cover to Netherlands with "706" censorship in violet & Germany (Allied Occ) censored covers to Belgium (13) complete this lot. Untidy mounting with mixed cond of cards & covers but a rare opportunity to build a censored mail collection & research the history of the areas affected. (145)
