1895-1913 group of naval postcards with majority showing photos of warships which had passed through ports of Fremantle or Albany env route to home port all mounted on cards with researched write-up. Noted 1895 HMS Tyne Albany visit, ditto 1897 HMS Royal Arthur & 1899 SMS Saida Fremantle plus 1900 TPO strike on Montenegro scenic postcard & 1901 SMS Hensa on route to Melbourne as the German representative at the opening of the first Commonwealth Parliament on 9 May with 2 cards addressed to a German sailor on board, 1905 HMS Cambrian Fremantle (Victoria Quay postcard) & pen/ink drawing on addressed piece to Guernsey (damaged), SMS Panther Albany 2 June, 1910 Dutch Naval Visit b&w Fremantle en route to Sorabaya. Continues with 1911 FNS Montcalm, Fremantle en route Melbourne to Batavia, 1910 HMS Gibraltar Fremantle, a b&w photographic postcard, Broome, 1913 Japanese Naval Visit, HIJMS Azuma (1st class cruiser) & HIMJS Soya on b&w photocard, 1913 HMS Fantome, Fremantle en route to Plymouth after surveying around Broome & 1913 HMAS Sydney. Finally, Albany 19-27 Sept 1913 on her maiden voyage from England to Sydney "Tuck Oilette" postcard unused plus another similar card with message addressed "HMAS Sydney c/- GPO Sydney" unstamped. Cond generally good to fine. An interesting group. (19)
