1840 1d black Mulready Letter Sheet with clear upright Maltese Cross struck top centre. Printed contents, "REPORT OF THE DIRECTORS of the Clerical, Medical and General LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY........Held March 5th 1840. Good cond with wax seal intact. Addressed to Nottingham, Berks with red Bagshot SE 20 1841 cds on reverse. A couple of contemporary wax/grease spots add to its character. Most attractive early use. SG ME1, Cat. £550 used
