Egypt 1935 Cairo to Frankfurt Airmail cover bearing 46 mils in adhesives (1, 2, 7, 8 x2, 20m Airs) all tied by Shepheard's Hotel cds incl 20m on reverse. Also Cairo roller cancel of 10 AP 36 on reverse clear of adhesive. The hotel was built in 1845 & of interest is a 1914 4m "Pyramids" with socked on the nose "Shepheard's Hotel/Cairo" cds with those details above the central date slug whereas all the strikes on this cover show the detail below the date- slug in the cds. The current Shepheard's Hotel is near the side of the original which was burnt down in 1952.
