1968 (19th April) Windhoek SAA Being crash. Envelope with contents & 4 x 3c bird stamps remain tied by Johannesburg cds's. Addressed to Germany this was salvaged from the crash of the Boeing 707 "Pretoria" near Windhoek's J G Strijdom Airport on April 20th 1968. Unsurprisingly damaged & soiled as usual for this mail which was badly burned. Complete with official Post Office notelet concerning the crash. A lovely example of this scarce recovered mail.
