1838 Ticket of Leave issued to former convict, Jonathan Whiting, detailing his record from arrival in Australia Dec 1823 up to transfer to Port Arthur on 6 May 1835, where he was given 7 days solitary confinement for "contemptuous language towards Mr G.H.Jackson, Master of the Cutter "Charlotte". Quite legible, though ink has faded with time. Heavy folds but on strong parchment. Ends "T.L. (Ticket of Leave) 24.5.1838". A rare historical document.
