Great Britain 1840-1948 collection used in SG Simplex binder. Very comprehensive incl 1840 1d black (7), 2d blue (2), 1841 1d (14, incl M/C 1, 2, 3 & 5 - Cat. £595), 2d (12), 1870 ½d (26 incl shades, but missing plate 9), 1½d pl. 1 (3 + strip of 3), pl. 3 (5), 1847/54 6d embossed (5 cut square, but faulty, 7 cut to shape), 10d (one cut square but corner creases) + 2 cut to shape, ditto 1/- (3), good range of shades in both wmks & perfs of 1854/58 1d reds (odd interesting cancel incl straight line Leith) blued & later white paper, 2d blues; no 1858/79 1d plates (see separate lot); 2d (20, but no plate 7), surface printed from 1855 with strong range of shades & plates, incl (all with faults) 1867/83 5/- plate 2 (x2), 10/- greenish grey (spacefiller), £1 brown lilac (ditto). Later QV to 10/-, KEVII & KGV to 10/-, KGVI to £1 incl RSW, plus range of ovpts (official, also Bechuanaland, Morocco Agencies incl 6f on 5/-) pages of low value KGV/VI wmk varieties, Paquebot strikes etc. Cat. value is huge, but majority are less than fine & should be inspected to properly evaluate.
