1856 stampless military letter from Crimea to UK with handwritten "via Marseilles & officer's letter from Crimea to England". M/S carriage charge "3". Reverse has superb full "Post-Office AU 24 1856 A British Army" in red, B/S London transit "JU30 T - TH EU" & a green arrival "Cambridge JY 1 1856 B". Complete with original letter of June 17 1856 on board "H.M.Ship Queen". The letter discusses the other occupants of the ship, namely the 77th Regiment. Very fine cover plus original ship letter.
