Great Britain 1840-1968 used collection written up on leaves in old style British binder. QV useful incl 1840 1d black (3, one with 4 margins, others 3-3½), 2d deep full blue (4 margins), 1841 1d red brown imperfs (5 shades + 2 "Ivory Head"), 2d (3, pair & one with "2" in Maltese Cross, light but Cat. £550), 1854/57 range of shades, perfs, wmks, (incl 2d large crown perf 16, cat. £325 but trimmed one side), 1858/79 1d plates (ex 77) comp to 214 mainly fine plus 216-220, 222, 225 (latter faulty), 2d blue plates 9 & 13, 1870 ½d plates 3, 4, 5 & (possible!) 9. Sparse surface prints incl 1883 5d & fine 1887/92 1/- dull green, good KEVII range sorted by shades, papers, printers & perfs (65 to 1/-, plus 5/- with parcel cancel), 1911/12 Downey Heads various dies & wmks (24), 1912/22 shades to 1/- (39) plus inverted wmks ½d (2), 1d (5), 1½d (3), 2d & a few Seahorses in mixed cond. Also 1924/26 Block Cypher to 1/- incl sideways wmk ½d to 2d, 1924/5 B.E.E., 1929 UPU to 2½d incl sideways wmk ½d & 1½d plus average range later incl wmk varieties & PD's incl 1914/23 1½d chestnut (cat. £20).
