Dear Collector

It is our pleasure to present our biggest auction yet with 2850 lots offered over 2 days in 2 separate sales using the services of 5 auctioneers, possibly a unique situation in Australian auctioneering! Better than that, every auctioneer we use has an in-depth knowledge of what they are selling or an interest in the hobby as either a collector or a dealer. With over 100 vendors, this auction covers everything from pre-stamped Great Britain to the latest Australian Exhibition covers from a couple of months ago. By offering such a cross section of material, we ensure there is something for every collector's budget and hopefully collecting field.

As you will have probably noticed by now, we have an amazing array of Australian Kangaroos & KGV, our best yet. This is thanks to several vendors who have kindly engaged the services of Ace Stamp Auctions to sell their prized collections. By using the "Auction Archive" on our website, collectors are now discovering that we frequently realise higher prices than the "well known" auction houses on the east coast and with the lowest Buyers' Premium in Australia, they find that their returns are greater. We also pay strictly 3 weeks after the sale without any delay to that promise. So please do consider Ace Stamp Auctions when next selling material from your collection and if still in doubt, please check the testimonials page on our website where over 50 collectors have left their comments.

Turning to this auction, there are simply too many highlights to list here but if you are into flaws and varieties in kangaroos and KGV, then there is plenty to tempt you including 2 previously unrecorded artwork pieces from the 1911 Stamp Design Competition. Likewise, if you have been waiting to fill that elusive gap in the high value kangaroos with superb MUH/MLH stamps, then you will also enjoy the catalogue. KGV specialists will delight in the shades on offer plus the opportunity to compliment your collections with plate & die proofs as well as large multiples. The collections once again deliver outstanding value for money including lots in the British Commonwealth & World sections. The WA material delivers some amazing postal history items including a "Mail Robbery" cover from the TPO to Pinjarra. The GB section has not only the classic £1 brown lilac QV, 1882 £5 orange & £1 PUC but also a wonderful array of Officials, an increasingly popular area of collecting.

Please also investigate both the literature & accessories lots, as these give you the opportunity to add to your philatelic library and re-stock on albums & stockbooks at lower than retail prices!!

Following on from the last lot in this auction on the Sunday (8th October) afternoon, we will conduct Sale No. 22, Australian & World Airmails, with 380 lots from a selection of vendors including covers from both the Tom Frommer & Vince Brown collections. This catalogue is by request only, so please contact me by phone or email to receive one in the post. Alternatively visit www.acestampauctions.com to see every cover illustrated and described with AAMC numbers and background history to the flights represented including a 1919 Ross Smith vignette, one of only 25 recorded mint examples.

In closing, we wanted to thank all our vendors and buyers who support our efforts. This year we are proud to be celebrating not only our 21st sale but also 10 years of public stamp auctioneering here in Western Australia. We started back in 2008 with 700 lots and 3 vendors on a Sunday afternoon with reserves of $35,000. By comparison, this sale has 2850 lots from 102 vendors with reserves just shy of $500,000.

On a personal note, my sincere thanks go to "my team". This includes John McPhee, Trevor Lacy, Janene Freeman, Marc Poupart, Sam Mannino, Trevor & Jane Spencer, Damon Mayston, Mike McAndrew, Phil & Gill Swan, Dave Heffer, Rob & Christina Mandanici, Dale McCrae, Mick Evans, Mel Peachey, Rob & Dee Cook, Terry Finlayson, Pat Palmer, Carolyn Read, Kath Herold & Dave Gardner plus many others over the years who have assisted in one capacity or another. I am also honoured to call them all friends.

Finally, as so often before, in fact 21 times over 10 years, I am indebted to Christine for her love and support not to mention hours of "hands on assistance" with the business. It is safe to say that we made this last 10 years because of her!

Please enjoy the auction and THANK YOU for once again participating in another Ace Stamp Auction!

Ian Boulton

PS. PLEASE REMEMBER THE NEW AUCTION VENUE AS ABOVE!
